Let’s get this out of the way before we get the good stuff!

Hey folks! Just a heads up! I’m expecting some good new material soon!

… So let’s get some redundant padding out of the way!

Well, honestly, that’s a bit harsh; a redump is a redump, after all.

This came out of my own 8M Pack purchases, but it wasn’t something I knew I had. Wondering why? Of course, apparently the game was deleted off the 8M before I got it.

I was almost getting my hopes up a bit much when Callis told me I got a Wario’s Woods, but alas, it’s a redump of Futatabi! Bakushow Ban has eluded me yet again.

Although the header data is gone, it’s fairly easy to restore and you’ll end up with checksum data identical to the previously-established GoodSNES dump. So, basically, mostly just good for dump verification.

This shall be added to the Java/Flash Embed section whenever I also bother to do that with Logos Panic.

But right now? I’m expecting a haul come the weekend. It may take a while to document, discuss, and post it all here, though, so be patient, ok? 🙂

(Oh, BTW, I’ve also set up shop on Etsy.)

  1. Greetings! So many things been going on after I came back from Japan, haven’t even had time to read your blog, and… Sorry to tell you but I didn’t find any 8M paks really, all I found were three games (at mandarake I think) all priced at 50k yen: Koi wa balance, Dynami tracer and Parlor parlor.

Good news is that I found two unseen Bakushow mondai magazines dated 2/1 and 2/8 from the leftover data in Super Puyo Puyo Tsuu Remix! 🙂 Their header data is located at 0x87FC0 and 0xC7FC0, deleted checksums being 490D/B6F2 and A386/5C79 respectively.

As for other useless leftovers I found, AK live hit gang might have data from Wario no mori Bakushou version: 0x40000-0x693EF has a lot of graphics data with awfully similar looking patterns as the retail version and Futatabi version, and everything after 0x78000 is identical with Futatabi.

Machi magazine has got its leftover data interleaved in small, weird segments from two games: a different Dragon Quest we have and probably Zelda no densetsu dai-4-wa. Lots of identical or almost identical data with the ROMs we have but some sections are entirely different.

Sound Journal for Lovers has leftovers probably from some generic magazine. Every odd 32KB bank from 0x80000 onwards matches perfectly with BS Buster 4/12 and Ukulele no Maki.

Tamori no Picross (6/26) has 4mb of data from RPG Super Dante (identical with Jewel of live), meaning there has been one of those broadcasted user made games on the pak :/

The ROM named WaiWai Check 3/7, which also has the 3/14 magazine on it, is corrupted in the same interleaved way that Guruguru Ball pak is, missing every other bank…

And lastly, you’ve got a link in the download page that says “More SD Gundam G-NEXT data(?)” which is actually a ROM for the retail Gundam G-Next cart without any data packs 🙂
