ROM Release…? …. Nah, I don’t think this counts.
Callis sent me this rom to examine… and… well, it just seemed like a corrupted to me, and I told him that.
He then told me something weird – The Memory Pack this image came from caused his Satellaview to -really- mess up. It gave out an “Error 41″ message, according to him.
I looked through my old entry on Errors, and realized I never came across such an error. What is Error 41? He wasn’t able to take a picture. Can someone hack or modify the ROM in such a way that error 41 can be called out? Of course, if someone -could- do that, I’d expect even grander things, like access to many of the “locked” BS-X areas…

Try this:
In a SNES debugger, set a write breakpoint on 0013C5 (the address of the error number) and trigger an error. After the error number has been written, change it to the number of the error you want to see and let the emulation resume. The only valid errors I can trigger through this are errors 8, 9, 11, 21, 22, 23, 41, and 42.
Alternatively, I’ve dumped some of the BIOS text (it’s stored in SHIFT-JIS encoding).

“Memory Pack Error.
Abnormalities in the Memory Pack have been discovered, erasing contents.”

If you check back on this post, you can see all the errors I can trigger by myself. The initial batch are errors in a Derby Stallion 96 cart, so you could probably check that as well.
I have never encountered errors 21, 22, 23, and 42, either.
