Satellaview Soundtracks – Sousa Sentai Wappers SPC rips

A bit of a time ago I ripped all the SPCs I could from the “Sousa Sentai Wappers 1”, “Sousa Sentai Wappers 2”, and “Sousa Sentai Wappers Shoushuu Hen” ROMs.

I tried submitting them to SNESMusic.org but apparently I need proper song titles before these can be accepted, so… actually, the “Shoushuu Hen” ones actually have JP Song titles. If these could be translated, maybe that’ll work.

You can get the current version of my Wappers music rips in a nice RSN set here.
For your convenience, I will also supply Mp3s, and pictures of the track names for the ones I can supply. Just use the “more” button to check them all out.

WaiWai de Q = Satella-Q? They appear to be one and the same.

The relatively substantial burst in Satellaview-related uploads from NicoNicoDouga have shown a great deal about St. GIGA’s Satella-Q series.
Right after the “Sayonara Heisei Q Nen” upload, another set was put up right away…

But, huh, WaiWai De Q’s the name now? Actually, it seems St. GIGA could hardly make up their minds on this themselves at the time considering how they swap the titles even throughout the broadcast.
The recordings are from part 4 of “Haru no Michi” – the last of the series under the “WaiWai de Q” name. After this one, all the future broadcasts were under Satella-Q.

I’ve been learning a lot about the Satella-Q series – much thanks goes to the generous NicoNicoDouga uploaders – and I’ve been supplying what I know to the Mario Wiki, as well. (I may need to adjust that title, though…)

St. GIGA history – Sound of the Earth series.

I’ve said before how I wanted to take a bit more of a look into St. Giga’s Pre-Satellaview history, and it seems like I got something nice for it – a CD-R Copy in the mail. 🙂

“St. GiIGA Sound of the Earth
Ambient Soundscape 11: Prayers for the Spirit of Nature”

A bit of info on this series of CDs as a whole can be found on their site.

Is the CD anything special? Well, it’s certainly unique. It consists of not much more or less than the sounds of splashing water mixed in with various other “nature” sound effects. The tracks are done in such as a way as to sound transition-less when on played, all meant to go together.

I’ve ripped the music for anyone else who is interested.
To listen to the sounds in MP3 format…. Yeah, y’know, the “more” link.

Satellaview Soundtracks – BS-X – New SPC rips.

I once ripped a new SPC from the BS-X ROM, but didn’t want to make a post about it until more were ripped – well, now more -are – ripped. Thanks to Vehiek at the BS Zelda forums for those. This discussion in the forums sparked the music rips. Also in that forum thread is another video to download, which is a variant o the “LAST DAY”. It is notable for having some of the new music which was ripped.

hit the “More” button for the songs.

Satellaview Profiles – Hikaru Ijuin (伊集院光)

For a while, I’ve been trying to look up some of the personalities associated with the Satellaview – mostly for the programs they were associated with in the service itself, as well as a sampling of some of their other contents.

This article should have some nice bits about the Comedian Hikaru Ijuin. Proper Japanese spelling 伊集院光.

You’ve probably seen that name on this blog already. That’s because Hikaru Ijuin is the host of
伊集院光の放課後の王様 (“Hikaru Ijuin’s After School King”)
as well as
伊集院光の怪電波発信基地 (Was never quite sure, but I think now it’s meant to be “Hikaru Ijuin’s Bizarre Radio Signals”)
Of which I put some of the episodes up on here. In fact, it seems I may have indeed put up all of “After School King” – according to the Japanese Wikipedia that program aired from 95-96, while the latter show aired from 96-97.

He’s had a long history of other programming, sandiwching his two Satellaview programs like giant-size buns that make you ask where the beef is.

In both of the programs, Ijuin and his guests, Laughing Group (笑組) – would voice out ongoing serial comic skits during set time intervals, each consisting of a thematic “gag”, like the Reverse Funny Aneuryism “Dragon Quest IX” skits, or skits involving sexy girl voices.

Rather certain now that that kind of stuff, Nintendo would no longer let fly.

Hikaru Ijuin has quite a lot of his content uploaded on NicoNicoDouga – in fact, for all the Satellaview radio I’ve got, there’s nearly double in terms of unrelated radio shows. Most of the stuff is more his recent works than his past works, however.
