A Satellaview research blog.

Minor IRC note:

#BS-X Is currently on irc.caffie.net.
I may think of moving it again at some later point, but for now it’s here.

Dynamitracer – … I don’t know. (ALSO: On technical difficulties)

First off, apologizes for earlier – no video, picture, or music links were working for a while. This problem has since been resolved. Don’t want to elaborate on the technical details, but aye.

Following up on Treasure Conflix – there were also some NND uploads for Dynamitracer. These include some gameplay and the ending, but I don’t know if they comprise the whole game… it’s a very weird game, after all.

Treasure Conflix – played all the way through in 4 videos.

Treasure Conflix is a peculiar aerial-dogfighting/RPG hybrid by Squaresoft. I’ve posted a bit of footage from it before, but this particular post features footage that emcompasses a whole game playthrough.

Anyone who may be wondering how to play this game or what to do next may like to refer to this.

Satellaview Emulation – SNES9Xpp XE is SWEET.

For a long, long time now, I’ve been wondering by the BS F-Zero ROMs have a notable emulation issue where you can’t clear a lap.

Well, I finally found an emulator where this doesn’t happen! Behold! Xpp XE. I don’t know much on it – it’s apparently Japanese in origin and based of the “SNES9XWXE” I may have mentioned before, but it’s newer (well, 2004, but still), and better!

To set it up, mark your “Save” directory and make a folder called “BIOS” there. Take the (headerless) “BS-X” ROM, name it to “bsxbios.bin” and put it in that directory. Now set up a “BSXPSRM” directory and leave it blank.

Then load the beauty. You’ll kick into the BIOs – showing the emulator obviously use a hack-ish method to load the ROMs. You have to load Soundlink games as though they were downloads!

Still. It’s worth it. Just for this. Watch me crash and die, folks!

Satellaview Soundtracks – Konae-chan no DokiDoki Pengin Kazoku

The music for Konae-chan no DokiDoki Pengin Kazoku has been posted on SNESMusic.org.
I ripped this SPC set myself using a variant of BSNES that supports SPC dumping. Fairly impressive, 😀

I’m posting streaming MP3s up for you guys who don’t use SPC players. The music is short and repetitive, but has a bit of a nice retro-arcade feel to go along with the, well, retro-arcade feel of the game itself.
