This game is a perfect showcase of just what the SNES is capable of. The graphics in Jikkyo Pro Wrestling are so good that it's hard to believe that it is a SNES game! Also Jikkyo is the last wrestling game made for the SNES. The wrestlers and the ring are fully rendered and have a 3D feel.
The game includes around 50 characters from four different promotions, but no American wrestlers. The four promotions are All Japan, New Japan, FMW and one more. The only problem is that it's really hard to tell who the wrestlers are by just looking at them. For more info I suggest you read the Jikkyo FAQ.
There are a quite a few different types of matches, including One on One, Tag Team, Six Men Tag, Tournament, League, and Career Mode. Jikkyo also includes gimmick matches: No Rope Electrified Barbed Wire Deathmath, and Submission Match. The deathmatch is very fun to play. You can whip your opponent into electrified barbed wire, or suplex and powerbomb him on the exploding barbed wire boards outside the ring.
The gameplay is also good, but it does take a while to get used to. The moves are done much like SFPWXP, meaning that timing is involved. Please refer to the FAQ for the exact controls.
Bottom line: One of the best games out there! Worth a download just to see the awesome graphics and also a must for hardcore wresting fans (ECW, FMW, etc)
