{"id":1168,"date":"2012-01-23T12:28:20","date_gmt":"2012-01-23T19:28:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/superfamicom.org\/blog\/?p=1168"},"modified":"2013-11-26T10:03:12","modified_gmt":"2013-11-26T17:03:12","slug":"buried-in-the-depths-of-the-roms-satellaview-music","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/superfamicom.org\/blog\/2012\/01\/buried-in-the-depths-of-the-roms-satellaview-music\/","title":{"rendered":"Buried in the depths of the ROMs: Satellaview music"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As ROMs have been being dumped, so have their music contents been ripped into small and easy-to-store SPC forms, thanks to nensondubois over at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.snesmusic.org\/\">snesmusic.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>He&#8217;s ripped a lot of SPCs from the Satellaview magazines in the past few months, which I didn&#8217;t think was a very bright idea at first, quite honestly.<\/p>\n<p>Silly me, I should&#8217;ve suspected they&#8217;d have a buncha unused sound effects and music, but, hey, sometimes being proven wrong actually feels good!<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/bsx.superfamicom.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/mp3\/Unused%20Jingle%20(Mario%20Bros%20Arcade%20Life).wav\">Let&#8217;s take a listen to this one!<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8230; hey, doesn&#8217;t that sound familiar?<br \/>\nNah, maybe I&#8217;m just imagining things&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/bsx.superfamicom.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/mp3\/Unused%20Jingle%202%20(Mario%20Bros%20Arcade%20Bonus).wav\">How about this one?<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&#8230; ok, I&#8217;m done playing dumb. These sound like jingles from Mario Bros.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"420\" height=\"315\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/7TRmhNXT-A4\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>I wonder if Nintendo ever planned to port that to the Satellaview as standalone&#8230;? hrmmm&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p>The peculiar thing about those two jingles is that they&#8217;re in a lot of the magazines.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s an unused song that was found in the recent &#8220;Gal Kan Bazooka&#8221; dump.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/bsx.superfamicom.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/mp3\/Unused%20Song%202%20(Songfail).mp3\">&#8230; Ouch.<\/a><br \/>\n.. Let&#8217;s backpedal a bit.<\/p>\n<p>B-Dash?<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/bsx.superfamicom.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/mp3\/Unused%20Song%201.mp3\"><br \/>\nHey, this -also- sounds like certain Mario music. Interesting. Perhaps the folks at SMWC might like this.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>One more for the time being. This was ripped from the &#8220;SatesupoDX&#8221; ROM&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/bsx.superfamicom.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/mp3\/Unused%20Song%202.mp3\">Aw&#8230; is this?&#8230;.
