Description

Beta 2 Updates:
This latest patch includes some new fonts and fixes the Herman’s Cave crash. Some names have also been reworked.

Known Issues

Pre-Battle Screen: Probably the most obvious bug in THG right now is the pre-battle screen and the fact that the text is not centered. I probably could fix it if I had the time, but since it does not really affect the playability, I figured it could be ignored for the time being.

The Story: There may be some inconsistencies in the course of the story for the simple fact that no official re-writing of the script has been done. One was planned prior to any release, but for some reasons out of my control, it isn't possible at this point in time. But do not worry: the story still is mostly coherent.

Untranslated Tidbits: There is still some random japanese left in the game, namely in one of the games at the frog casinos and on the main menu screen. For those who are wondering, the untranslated line in the menu simply means "Press Y to sort your equipment". The symbols at the casino will be obvious once you get there.

Random Bugs: A few times during the course of the game, there seems to be a "text-overwrite" bug that occurs (you'll recognize it if it happens to you) for some yet unknown reasons. I have only encountered it immediately following boss fights, so there's no need for worries here either. The cause seems may be related to a bad use of memory space in the variable width font, but that's strictly speculative.

The Future

Not long ago, a new font was being developed and tested, but the occasion to bring it in never occurred. This should be the next step if any more work is done on this game.

There were also plans, as I mentioned earlier, to re-write the script because it was translated by many different people and the styles of writing are different at times. Those plans have not been scrapped, and should more work be done on THG, this is a strong possibility.

Third, we had plans to release a translated version of the game's instructions booklet. But a lack of translators is putting this on indefinite hold.
